The Worm in the Tequila

Years ago, I wrote a song titled *Worm in the Tequila*. It was about the myth of the worm in tequila and its historical origin. The "worm" was actually a larva found in the agave plant, later used as a marketing tool to promote tequila. My song used this myth as a metaphor to illustrate how offense can work in our lives.

Offense is much like the worm in the tequila. It’s a deceptive idea that tricks us into holding onto something we think is valuable. In reality, it’s just dead weight that needs to be discarded. Offense, like a worm, can crawl into the very fibers of your being and start to eat away at the fabric of your soul. If left undealt with, it leads to a life of misery, hurt, and regret.

Today, examine your heart. Are you holding onto offense? If so, now is the time to let go of the dead things that are holding you back. Don’t let the enemy’s marketing deceive you—offense is not worth clinging to.
