Scripture:
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” — Acts 1:8 (NKJV)

Devotional Thought:
Have you ever been around someone whose presence changes the atmosphere? Maybe their joy is contagious, or their kindness influences everyone around them. Whether we realize it or not, we all carry an influence. The question is—what kind of influence are we under, and what kind of influence do we bring?

On the Day of Pentecost, the disciples experienced something extraordinary. The Holy Spirit filled them with power, boldness, and supernatural ability to spread the Gospel. People around them were amazed and even thought they were drunk! But Peter stood up and explained that they were not drunk with wine—they were under the influence of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:15-17).

When we are under the influence of the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to live differently. Fear is replaced with boldness, weakness is transformed into strength, and our ordinary lives become extraordinary for God’s glory. The same Spirit that empowered the early church is still at work today. He wants to fill us, lead us, and use us to influence the world around us for Christ.

•What influences your thoughts and actions the most—God’s Spirit, the world, or your emotions?
•How can you make room for the Holy Spirit to guide and empower you each day?
•What would change in your life if you fully surrendered to the Holy Spirit’s influence?

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I desire to be under the influence of Your Holy Spirit. Fill me with Your power, guide my steps, and use me as a witness for Your glory. Help me to reflect Your love, truth, and grace in all that I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Challenge for Today:
Be intentional about walking under the Spirit’s influence today. Spend time in prayer, listen for His guidance, and step out in faith to share His love with someone.
