Devotional: “The Gravitational Pull of Grace”

Throughout our walk with Jesus, there is a gentle yet unrelenting invitation to draw near to Him. It’s not a command shouted from a distance but a quiet, magnetic pull—a gravitational force that anchors us in His love.

Sometimes, though, we get distracted. Our eyes wander to things that glitter in the world, enticing our flesh with promises of satisfaction. We chase after them, hoping to make them ours. But in doing so, we begin to drift, losing focus on the One who truly satisfies. Yet even in our wandering, the gentle tug of His presence remains, calling us back home.

When we return—and every time we return—He welcomes us not as strangers but as sons and daughters. There is no shame in His embrace, no condemnation for our missteps. Only love, forgiveness, and rest.

This journey has taught me that the battle against the “lust of the flesh” is the affliction of faith. My eyes may still wander at times, but His grace reminds me that I am forgiven. When I yield to the powerful pull of His presence, I find myself once again in the Holy of Holies, my eternal home, where regret and guilt cannot follow.

Jesus extends this invitation to all of us:
“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

Today, acknowledge the massive gravity of His love. Let it draw you close as you choose to draw near to Him. Rest in the peace of knowing that His embrace is always open, always welcoming, and always sufficient.
