2026 Year Theme: Building Community — Diving Deeper into Relationship
Family isn’t built by accident—it’s built on purpose. This year at Destiny City Church, we’re leaning in: deeper relationships with Jesus, deeper relationships with one another, and deeper connection as a church family. Whether you’re brand new or you’ve been here for years, there’s a seat at the table for you.
We also just finished up our annual 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting, and we hope for those who participated that this has been a time of renewed vision, renewed purpose, and renewed passion in your pursuit of Jesus Christ!
And we’re excited to share that we also have plans for new Connect Groups and fun opportunities for young families to grow together in friendship and faith—because community is stronger when we do life side-by-side.
⸻
New Connect Groups + Young Family Opportunities
We’re building momentum this year with new Connect Groups designed to help people connect, grow, and belong. We’re also planning fun opportunities for young families—spaces where parents and kids can build friendships, encourage one another, and grow in faith together.
More details and sign-ups will be coming soon—so stay tuned!
⸻
Midweek Connect Nights (Wednesdays)
In case you didn’t know—Wednesdays are Midweek Connect Night at Destiny City Church, and we’ve got something for the whole family!
•Adult Class – grow deeper in the Word
•Youth Group – for teenagers to connect, learn, and build faith
•Hero Kids Club – an exciting time for kids to learn about the heroes of the Bible, learn how to be a hero, and learn God’s Word
This is an awesome time of fellowship, growth, and connection together as the body of Christ. If you’re not involved, we truly encourage you to jump in and be a part.
⸻
NEW: Plan Your Visit (Website Feature)
Another new thing we’re doing is we’ve added a Plan Your Visit tab to our website! This feature allows first-time visitors to tell us the date they’re coming, and the plan is to have Destiny City Church liaisons meet them that Sunday—helping them feel at home and get connected.
This is just one more way we’re working to grow community and see our church grow as a body—both in deep relationship and connection, and also in reaching new people this year.
⸻
Family Communion Service Meal + Love Feast
One of the ways we’re “building community” this year is by gathering around the Lord’s Table—then sharing a meal together as a church family.
•Frequency: Every third month (3–4 times per year)
•Format: Table seating
•Centerpiece: Communion elements
•Flow: Communion first, then a church-wide potluck meal
📅 First Love Feast: Sunday, February 15, 2026
Come ready to worship, receive Communion, and stay to eat, laugh, and connect. More details (including potluck info) will be shared soon.
⸻
Beefing Up Children’s Safety
We love our kids, and we take their safety seriously. We’re strengthening our children’s area procedures to ensure a secure and consistent environment for every child and family.
Children’s Area Access
For the safety of all children, no one is permitted to enter the Children’s Area unless they are a teacher or helper who has been approved by Church Staff & Leadership.
•If you need assistance, please check in at the Children’s Check-In Desk.
•Thank you for helping us keep our kids safe!
Pick-Up Procedure
For your child’s safety: parents/guardians, please show the printed check-in badge you received at check-in when picking up your child.
Weekday Events
For weekday events, if you arrive late, please ring the doorbell so a team member can assist you.
Additional Notes
•Children’s teachers and parents will need to utilize the check-in badge consistently.
•We are exploring ministry team training to help everyone feel confident and equipped.
•We specifically need more volunteers—especially someone to help oversee children’s rooms.
⸻
Children’s Ministry Volunteers Needed
If you’ve been looking for a place to serve and make an eternal impact, this is it. We need more volunteers in Children’s Ministry.
Interested? Please see Pastor Becki Vess.
Even if you can serve once a month, you can help us build something strong and safe for our kids.
⸻
Safety Team Meeting for Leaders
We’re strengthening safety across every department. Butch Smolarz will be meeting with leaders from every department.
📅 Sunday, February 1, 2026 (subject to change due to inclement weather)
🕚 Right after church
📍 Location: Kids Cave
If you lead or oversee any area of ministry, please make every effort to attend.

Let’s Build Together
Building community doesn’t happen from a distance—it happens when we show up, serve, gather, and grow.
We love you, Destiny City Church. Let’s dive deeper—together.
Weather Update: Stay tuned for updates regarding this weekend, as there is a higher probability of snow. Should service be canceled, our plan is to be online—so keep an eye on Facebook, YouTube, and the DCC app for updates and online services.
